Book Review: Cry of the Sea by D.G. Driver

(Spoilers? Maybe, I can't be certain what I write isn't a typical review, it's just honest and everywhere.)

This is another fabulous read by Ms. D.G. Driver! If I was ever told that my parents raised me to be exactly like them, I'd freak too! Being a senior and a loser with only one other friend who happens to be your neighbor and every thing bad that linked you, contaminated her too was pure bad luck. But as luck may have it, June finds the adventure and friends for life. With two famous parents of the Indian American culture, Mother Nature is at the top of the totem pole. She's wonderful, great and if anything threatens her and her Nature, the Sawfeather family members are there. June's dad is major environmental activist and her mother is a lawyer for the environment going after big companies and anyone who threatens illegally and inhumanely. Although she's lived a whole 17 years under their lifestyle, it's hard to deny June wants something similar but not exact. Not until she meets Carter. He's a freshman in college and a hunk who doesn't care if she's stinky from dead animals or covered in dirt and sand from the ocean. He sees the pure heart of someone who cares about the world, about their one Mermaid. Going through self realization of who you wanna be, who didn't you want to be, who's your friend and why your reputation and popularity isn't up to par, she finds herself and finally together with her bff/neighbor that being who they thought they wanted to be isn't all that. What's important is rescuing June and Carter's friend the mermaid.
The mermaid wasn't described as legends have painted them to be seem as but they were as lovely and can communicate. I do wonder... Is there more to June than what she knows? How is that she can communicate with the mermaid? Is there a sequel where we find out June is a mermaid too? But then they don't really look all human like Ariel I The Little Mermaid. Will June ever get to meet her mermaid friend again? Were the legends true of the mermaids and the killer whales and is there any magic involved? Can they transform? Why are they surfacing when crisis like oil spills occur but not swim deeper out into the sea? Is there a short story on the history and story of the mermaids and why they're surfacing or a personal story of the legends?
Hearing when a mermaid dies is the saddest part of the story. But knowing this story is so much more.. heritage, high school and popularity drama, finding yourself, knowing who your friends are at the most important moments of your life, caring for the environment and bringing awareness about oil spills and large companies and how they can also corrupt the system and use false lies and hopes to cover up, finding love in the least likely places of all and knowing your parents support your every decision no matter how many mistakes, mishaps or what you choose and they are with you all the way even though the steps there could be bumpy.
And enjoyable fresh read!

Book Review: Alive by Scott Sigler

Alive (The Generations Trilogy, #1)Alive by Scott Sigler
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Received this for an 'honest review."

Book Review: Alive by Scott Sigler

This is a story of twists and turns. Some predictable, other are surprises. 6 kids wake up and finds themselves traveling down an endless dusty corridor trying to find other life, food, water, anything, anyone to help shed some light into what's going on, what's happening, what is this place.
Narrated by one person, I would of preferred different views from different people. It would of put some life into the story until things started happening. At first the story seemed to drag on. Little surprises didn't excite me. As with the rest of the kids, everyone was at a loss. Things got interesting once the dark monsters appeared and the story picked up pace from there. And time and time again I felt the narrator was just rambling on with details to fill spaces. But as the climax built, pieces were falling into place and questions were finally answered.
I did not connect with the main character. I wasn't sure if it was because of her mind set of a twelve your old, but man at times I wanted to strangle her. Yes, she may be somewhat mentally fit to be a leader because in times she led, but she was over estimating and over doubting I wasn't sure to give her credit or to push her aside and let someone else take the reins.
I could of been a story about courage, leadership, survival, aliens! If this is a trilogy, what happens next? Where is Bello really? What happened to all the adults and the corpses? How and why people were the way they were? How can pigs be vicious? Or were they bores? How old were they? How long can a human life live and what can they live off of?
I will say this much, once the action starts, it keeps rolling. It's definitely a page turner and my curiosity has won me over many times. I wasn't bored per se, I was more annoyed but it's per situation that happens.

Book Review: Shatter Me, Unravel Me, Unite Me, and Ignite Me

** spoiler alert **

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book review: Shatter Me
Page 40, 11% - I like this story so far. It's earth after some kind of tragedy that effects the whole planet. POV is Juliette in a prison who ends up sharing her cell with Adam whos about her age. She shows him how the system works while he in turn provide her with he comfort of a friend, a companion who she hasn't had in 200ish days. The writing style is descriptive and very artistic in a way it paints the picture clearly whether it be the weather, the four walled cell, her emotions and her thoughts. It's painted so vividly clear and imaginative. Little objects have bigger impacts, bigger meanings. Simplicity is rare.
"I wish I could stuff my mouth full of rain- drops and fill my pockets full of snow. I wish I could trace the veins in a fallen leaf and feel the wind pinch my nose."
13% - A girls who's hiding herself, blocking her emotions, her feelings, yet desperately reaching out for someone, Adam, to touch her to make her feel whole, feel human, feel normal, feel wanted. Probably to be loved, feelings she never got once her parents knew about her.
17% - A spy, betrayal, choosing sides. A boot in her spine. It's all too much all at once but all I can think of is what does Adam really think n feel? Does he remember Juliette from school? Because she does. Does he feel anything from her? Because her body aches his touch.
21% - All I ever wanted was to reach out and touch another human being not just with my hands but with my heart."
She's so emotionally wrecked! AllI had to do was open a book—to see the sto- ries bleeding from page to page. To see the memories etched onto paper. " .. "I spent my life folded between the pages of books. In the absence of human relationships I formed bonds with paper characters. I lived love and loss through stories threaded in his- tory; I experienced adolescence by associ- ation. My world is one interwoven web of words, stringing limb to limb, bone to sinew, thoughts and images all together. I am a be- ing comprised of letters, a character created by sentences, a figment of imagination formed through fiction. They want to delete every point of punctu- ation in my life from this earth and I don’t think I can let that happen."
I wanted so badly to reach in n calm her soul and tell her everything will eventually be ok, it's ok, shhhhh.

If I were to just read to title and expect an awesome read. That's impossible! But that's exactly what I got! An awesome read! The cover image is pretty n interesting. I'm awed by the writing. It's easy to read with a good flow. The story line is smooth with unexpected turns from one alley to the other. If I read the first few chapters and the last few and try to fill in the middle? I'm screwed because they don't seem to exist in the same story let alone the attitude and flow of both ends. My feelings for this book? My thoughts? Just two words, shatter ME! Book two please! In honesty I had mixed feelings for this read. I've read a few comments /reviews about this book and had mixed thoughts of what I wanted to do. Buy or not? Trust reviews? But decide a review should not determine my choice of dropping the book but read it with an open mind. And I did! And I'm dumbfounded by why some of the haters even attempt to read fiction if their mindset wasn't ready. The way of the writing isn't difficult at all to read but actually tells you and takes you straight into the mind of the characters, of their type of style. It's lends you a type of shadow where you can understand the characters better through their thought process. The writer may create a character but the characters themselves are a separate entity of the writer and this author does an awesome job with character development and giving each character their own set of personality that bleeds through the pages. I'm still so stuck on the image of Warner and Juliette but I'm rooting for Adam no matter what.

Book Review: Unravel Me

An emotional rollercoaster that takes emotions to a whole 'nother level.

Chapter 14 (pg 91) - Juliette is like a walking wrecking ball. Unsure of her abilities and very much in love recklessly but unconsciously.
At Omega Point, Castle and Kenji are helping her adjust but having so many bottled up emotions and feelings and self pity she fuses her inter demon and unleashed u fathomed amounts of destruction. The monster in her is like Naruto's nine-tailed-fox, hard to control. When she's emotionally pushes she is in another state of mind that can care less, that can kill. She can't shatter the world!
During her training to learn to better herself, contain herself, to control her inner demon/monster, Adam is also learning about himself. Castle runs tests and soon learns that Adam can disable a persons ability.
The bad new is his body, when with Juliette, slowly drops its defenses and has to struggle to keep himself from being harmed by her.
Bottom line, he's not immune to her but his ability works to subdue her ability from killing him, unconsciously.

Done- It's like the author took my diary and expanded the passages, my secrets and feelings and all my emotions spread out before her, elaborated it in fuller details and dabbled in a story to give the emotions a plot, a person, a setting, and two damaged boys to die for. One can not imagine what Adam has to endear to be so contained after all he's been through. It must of been his souls owe training. Finally, finally Juliette speaks, she moves and she unravels the Earth with just the intent on saving the ones she's comes to care for. There aren't enough words to describe Waren, our Aaron has a new face, his flawless emotions displayed out so clearly and those scars, the tattoo he wears.

The author leaves me feeling that every soul can be beautiful and that anyone can change.

Book Review: Ignite Me

Intensely overwhelming. Satisfyingly indulged. And waiting along with Juliette for the next war.

She's fierce and she's unstoppable. Her mind is a force to be reckoned with. And her body? A weapon so damaging it makes you weak in the knee.

Aaron Warner, his hard exterior is unbreakable but his love is dear and knows no boundaries.

I've come to love Warner and Kenji so much. Their personalities tops their character and for what it's worth, they deserve Juliette's love and friendship to the end.

Family isn't bound by blood nor is it just a a definition of a man, wife, and children, it's the friends we've come to make and love and cherish all the great moments shared. Family is all Juliette saw in her friends. Their care and affection gives her strength and hope. Aaron may have lost his mother, but he now has two more.

The war was fierce on both The Reestablisment's side and the rebel's side. Many civilians were lost for finding hope in the rebels and many friends were buried from the act of one cruel man who loved the game of torture for the living and the dead and he got his point across. But it didn't break Juliette but made her stronger and to stand up to the fear and the ones who feed it.

For a girl and guy so broken, they've found love and there's no one who can take that away. They deserved that and every bit of pleasure that comes with it.

Adam revealed his true self, or was it now that Juliette realized how much love she had for Adam. He could touch her, and now he can, without the pain, the lost, or the consequences.

The best thing and also a little cruel is how Kenji is the strongest. He's the glue, the support system that never failed. He was her bff and her biggest support. He made reading about him and his surrounding so much more funner and exciting. He brought smiles and giggles to my lips. And I can't help but want a novella on the strongest and toughest comedian with a big heart!

Although Anderson was the worst man alive, the scariest and most feared commander, he did help give life to 3 extraordinary guys and to that he's done ONE good thing in his life, ok, maybe two, he didn't kill them. But I've always wondered why his wives or so called lovers were both sick. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. If Aaron had a gift and so did his mother, did Anderson? Hmmm, a mystery indeed. Maybe a novella on Anderson's life?

Best of all, James has a cool new older brother and what's to say about the rest of the family members? How will he be when he finds out about Anderson? Another novella?

I enjoyed the series I truly do and there wasn't a better way to write this series but through Tahereh Mafi's mind. I'm blown away! Found a new author and there is forever gonna be another great author I'd love to read from.

Btw, LOVE love the book cover!

Book Review: Unite Me - Destroy Me

Pg 75- Is it weird, am I the only one. I'm sure I'm not. But somehow, even thought I was curious through Shatter Me, I'm now certain. As I am finicky, I'm probably not devoted either. Very gullible to words on the pages and the emotions I read that I start to fall for a broken man who seemed so put together in the first book. No, it's not "I love you at "hello,"' but rather up to chapter fifteen I realized he's not so perfect, the soldier, this leader. Cold on the outside, super soft and guarded in the inside. His full past will unfold but so far he's got my hands at an arms length and I'm longingly looking at him with eyes of longing, sympathy, or just loathing. Who knows..
Julliette's journal is so depressing. Even though it's fiction, it's still a feeling, feelings, thoughts, that someone out there in this world is actually feeling this way. Abuse can be a game changer neither it breaks you or makes you stronger. But Julliette holds on to her humanity, she consistently searches for a friend, a companion, someone to acknowledge her, to laugh and cry, to whisper and dream. Her journal is untold emotions bottled up on pages and words leaving no empty corners to even leak ink.

If there's a word to describe Warner, his hot and cold exterior? It's UNBREAKABLE! Although, his insides, his emotions and damaged mental conscious, it's INTENSE.

The one thing that brought Juliette and Warner together is her journal that Warner stole. So much in common, it's like looking into the your very own soul and peeking out to see it's someone's else's entirely. If you say Warner is lucky to be brought up alive and given his position right now, I'm saying there's much to be read into his life. To digest it, absorb the enormassity of it and understand it inside out. He wasn't loved but broken, he was cherished but expected of. Poor guy. I've come to love a broken fiction guy. Is he the male lead now of Shatter Me?

Unravel Me:

My heart broke for Adam. So many ways not just one. I tried grieving with him and being there for him. And Kenji, he's tried his best and nothing bad can be said about that. He is the stone, the rock that keeps people around him steady. For Juliette she barely found herself and being new to fighting, it was hard for Adam as well. And James, poor James, he's what that's keeping Adam sane. And if anything were to be said about his braveness, it's that it's saved his life and Adam's.

Juliette's journal:

Most of the passages were read and made appearances throughout the series. I did grow bored of the repetition but because Tahereh Mafi's writing is so intense for me, I keep reading to the end pulling myself together to move one. Bc Juliette was broken and shoved and stomped all over. Her body broken, her mind damaged but she held on tight to her humanity and that saved her life and brought her closer to her heart and soul.

Book Review: Passing Notes

It's a nice change when the narration is through a guy's POV. A very confident and positive senior with little skills to show, academic wise. But he's sweet and he's not your average Joe. His main disadvantage right now is to talk/text his way back to a long-time love that seems to be slipping away, fast. Upon came a note and binding spell, he can now communicate with an unknown guy who can write sweet love letters and also he's a ghost! Ahhhh, yes, freaky!
42%- freaky! His grandma has the same name as the girl with her name drawn on to the back of his hand w permanently marker. The other freaky part is his grandma recognizes the handwriting too and from who which she abruptly forgets.
72%- So up to this point we don't know who this ghost guy is yet but we know he's helping Mark make it right by Bethany by helping him write love letters better, the old fashion way, because if he doesn't, when she graduates and goes to college and he graduates and head off into the army, there won't be rekindling of any type. Is it weird to have this gut feeling that maybe it's his past grandpa? Hmmm, that could be really sweet and scary all at once. I think his grandma is hinting him as she came around clear-headed, that his grandpa's name is Joe and maybe in those letters there's something that could help Mark.
End- a sweet goodbye, clarity, and letters.
This story could pass for many things, an army man's last wish, lingering souls, how to write a love letter. The list goes on. But the take away is love comes in many shapes and sizes, it's a powerful force that still lives on even if we past from one life to another. The tradition of a letter through mail hold so much meaning that a simple text or an email fails badly in comparison. This is a good novella in a way it teaches us the etiquette and true meaning of writing letters, the bond between family and the long forgotten. Some friends are worth holding on to the end while other fade away.
Mark learns through a ghost friend's advice that truth and patience is key to a longer and healthier relationship. Some things are not as they seem and being responsible and true to yourself is key.

Book Review: The Winner's Crime

The Winner's Crime (The Winner's Trilogy, #2)The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book Review: The Winner's Crime

Well I never liked the Capital in any book, they never are what they should be; a government you can really depend on. They are only looking out for their best interest. The Emperor reminds me of President Snow in The Hunger Games; deceiving, sneaky, mean, cold cold, COLD, So heartless at times and always lurking in your every conscious!
Krestel is such a strong woman. She's so brave to take risks but she's also very careless, always getting caught them the results of her punishment always directly hurts her, just not physically.
I hope The Emperor doesn't kill her pup that Verex got her.
My first impression of Verex was : immature but as the story was told, I find him so opposite of The Emperor. Is Verex even his son? Must of been a cold childhood for him. Luckily Risha was there. Was her story of betrayal by her older twin siblings?
I felt for Arin. He felt betrayed but her also loved her so much. For love, there is no prejudice. Whether he was a slave or she a noble, they both were head strong and very alike. Arin's cousin didn't very much like Krestel but between her people and his, slave vs owner, it's kind of hard., killing off each other and their loved ones.
I loved how the Queen of the south's castle is built, marble n stones, all the pretty stuff. Their punishment for Arin is laughable, so not what I thought of when Roshar kept insisting on the worst.
Krestel would of gotten to celebrate her eighteenth birthday in the capital. Her dad would of still loved her n their relationship would of gotten better somehow. Tensen would of still been alive if Arin didn't show up at the Capital.
Theory: I wonder if Krestel's dad doing what he did to protect her in a way; to get her away from the capital. Maybe he knew The Emperor would kill Krestel but would punish her. Maybe it was Krestel's dad's ideal to send her north. Maybe he would go there and send his men to protect her. Maybe I wanna see the good side of the General.
I knew Krestel's people have trained and grown up on little food before they conquered the Herrani people. But to here the Herran suffer is saddening. The water engineer is connivingly evil. But it could of all been the Emperor's orders. But what did she have against the Herrani people?
I hope Arin doesn't buy Krestel's lies and go find her. I hope someone protects her.
I hope the moth reaches Arin.

Book Review: The Winner's Curse

The story was well written. Whether it was sheer curiosity but I'm pretty sure the story flowed so well I couldn't stop reading until I realized it was 5AM!

Many things came to my mind as the book came to and end, when Krestel delivered Arin his choice of life or death for him and his people. Although it wasn't intended to turn out that way.

- did the general ever receive Krestel's letter? Did he fall for letter? Did it still indicated anything other than what she had said on the letter? Was that why the army was coming back as Krestel has guessed? Was the general with that crew?
- when the aristocrats were retrieved to back w Krestel,
..how did she feel about it?
..did they also rescue her friend and all the sick n dying in the makeshift hospital?
..was her bff's bro and the other prisoners get rescued?
..what of the aristocrats like Krestel's bff's parents who went on vaca? Did they come back after all to Herran or straight to the capital?
..where all the rescued living the same or better or worse life than before the assault?
- how and when we're the Herran people sent as spies into the capital?
- has Krestel seen the Prince once she agreed to the King she would marry his son to save Herran?
..what exactly was Arin thinking when he let her escape to the Capitol

The General's place was luxurious nice. the Herrani people did live a good life. I wonder how their society would of been without Krestel's people. Would Krestel's people lived such a life without Herran?
The battle Krestel fought for Arin was a duel that is a bitterlonghorn@gmail.com too cruel but I'm glad she had a plan to win and the game she did.
I didn't find too much a resemblance between the story and The Bite and Sting game though there was many mentions of it.
Krestel's people sounded like savages who dressed like the Victorians.
People weren't born into slavery like these 'owners' seem to imply. I wished Krestel's bff had more of a better upbringing than thinking she's better than the rest. Privileged and the slaves were no attractive descriptions of a book I would of chosen to read. But the flow, the story line, the plot, the heart felt pains of being the protagonists and being there in their time was so surreal that it made me dive deep into the book.

Functional Upcycling

This is a Marie's Ranch dressing bottle from the salad section in the grocery store. The Lavazza coffee comes in a foul package so I restored it in here.
Benefit? Glass container, wide opening for your choice of utensil to dispense the coffee grounds. It seems airtight enough.

Talenti Gelato icecream pint comes in a plastic material with a wide open ring as well. Spring cotton balls. Love love love the dark chocolate brown print, goes so well with the super white cotton balls.

This is two candle glass tops off its previous containers. They just happen to fit together like top n bottoms. The top is also upside down. You can reverse it but it looks nice this way n the little nook inside which usually has a rubber/plastic seal is now holding rings while the bottom holds watches/bracelets/ or more rings. Looks classy than a typical jewelry holder.

They all look like they were made for the functions I utilize them for. Awesome!

There's way more things you can upcycle for no cost at all. Just gotta get creative.

Sure, you might become a mini pack-rat or whatever the term used to discrinate us but it's a savy talent unrecognized unless from similar observers.

Practical Funnel

Supplies:
Plastic water bottle
Scissors

Method:
Cut into the empty water bottle. However tall or short you want the funnel to be. Make a clean cut so you don't have plastic pieces falling into the substance you're transferring.

The bottom bottle was a honey bottle and I'm just reusing it as a condense milk dispenser. Practical, useable. The honey bottle cap has a tiny spout so it was the perfect choice, especially the right size for a regular size can of milk.

I have 2 plastic funnels for different purposes but this was just an experiment and specifically because the spout was wide for a faster easier flow n it's short so it doesn't dunk too low into the bottle. If you ever handle condense milk it's thick n towards the end it flows slow. The water bottle funnel is wide and sturdy enough to hold the can while I did other stuff.
When done n cleaned the plastic bottle funnel and the milk can gets recycled so it's a win win, no waste here.

Brag-About-It: My sweet coconut rice with Red and Black Beans

So somehow i came across this recipe.
Mango Sticky Rice -
http://rasamalaysia.com/mango-sticky-rice/2/

Wether it was Pinterest or just plain google i can't remember. What i did was attempt to make it. First time making something it is usually my worst attempt. By following the directions intently i usually end up missing something or over looking something else. Actually this time i had it all prepped n made minus the mangos. I did exactly what i had read, even went to buy a bamboo steamer even though i totally forgot I already have a humungus double decker stainless steel steamer for banh boas. Anyways long story short, its probably not short, but I did everything and eventually it all went into the trash with just a few sample bites. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but how the rice and coconut was made with all that sugar just didn't do it for me. Maybe if I had that same rotten sweet tooth again i would of enjoyed it at least. Ever since i had my little son 22 months ago and my daughter a year ago I've been eating healthier. Sure its dessert U might say but honestly my taste buds didnt care for it much. So to the point, i remade it just yesterday and finished it today with half the sugar required. It turned out much better to my tasting. Since i had cut half the sugar in the coconut milk i did the same w the salt. I usually try to balance it right when i cut ingredients. This time though, no mangos still. Nothing against mangos. They're just not in season so you cant get the full flavor this dessert intended it to be. Instead, i made red and black beans slightly sweetened; about 7 grams of sugar to 1/4 cup of red beans and 1/4 cup of black beans. I had just bought some beans because I've  been wanting to make some vietnamese bean desserts. Another somehow (subscribed email), i got a how-to video on how to prep dried beans so i can use immediately without having the 2 day wait window?!  Unbelievable, the wait time that people endure for just a meal. I'm not a cook so i won't get it until i become one. Well everything turned out well. Even my hubby liked it. I had all the random ingredients needed besides the sweet rice which actaully took me forever to find because i was looking for "glutenious rice" when in asian stores its just labeled sweet rice which my mom also mentioned when i asked her once before. Here's the snap shot.

What i did differently was i didn't drain or soak the rice in the coconut. One teaspoon at a time i dresses the rice with the coconut milk. Then i layered it with shredded coconuts (the one i had on hand was to make macaroons which i never got to do.). Then i layered it w the beans on top of that and another layer of coconut shreds. Lastly i topped the whole thing with another few teaspoons of coconut milk. It was divine!  Heavenly, maybe. I do love coconuts, wether it be drinking coconut water, desserting w coconut milk, eating the coconut chips along with my FruNuts, or eating it straight out of the shell itself, meat and all! I love my coconuts!  If you haven't tried Chobani's Flip Greek Yogurt Coconut flavor with the dark chocolate and pistacios or was it roasted almonds and dark chocolate (i can't remember anything!) its really good. When i had my son i was eating so much yogurt i bought every flavor instead of the weird ones. But since my daughter i haven't had any up until a few weeks ago when i saw that Chobani had 'Flips' which got me to nosily browse in which the dark chocolate, almonds and pistacios made the decision for me. Anyways. Lets save that for another post which turns out may or may not exist if i dont start remembering. This mama's brain syndrome is effecting me, for reals!

So there's my brag-about-it moment.

Hope you've  enjoyed the post n give that dessert a try.

P.s. I cannot have a phone without the screen shot option, best thing that can happen for a mini photographer.

Target's Email Bonus Coupon

So I was checking my email which I can't  claim I do often because somehow I don't notice 'deals' until it's almost the end of the week/sale. Sad, I know, but I was looking through it n found this:

.. in which turns out to be ..

Awesome right? Normally I'd depend on IG (Instagram) or the next text from Target mobile or their weekly ad but this came in an email form. I guess it would depend if you've signed up for their email newsletter or have signed up for their Red Card (Target credit card) or registered for their bridal or baby events. Who knows. But for the ones who either don't have mobile connections or haven't received the deal by email, I did find it on Target's website on the coupons page. (Coupons.target.com)  ⬅️ under the 'baby' and 'food' section.

Happy savings!

Kroger's Weekly Ad 5 for 5

Great news! Kroger decided to run their 5 for 5 again this week. I've  chosen items that qualify for the sale and I've even included their buddy coupons to stack along with the sale. Awesone rt?! Let's get started. (Excuse my abreviations if any.)

Now these are 10 qualifying items I usually get.

Bounty and Charmin are usually on sale together so their descriptions is mixed into one photo with only one item shown so it gets confusing. I added the photo of Bounty to show that it's included.
And here are their buddy coupons that can be loaded onto the Kroger card to save even more. As with all coupons, they expire and most can only be used once. Every coupon has their exceptions and so does the sale. Don't  forget to read.

So some of us take advantage of sales like these and stock up, like 5 Dawns! You just dont know, I wash dishes 3 times a day, even more depending. And since each coupon can be used only once, you'll need multiples and what better than to do your homework and research for some clippings. I've found a few but these are just a collage of coupon pictures so go directly to the website and print it out.

Happy savings!

p.s.

(now that's a deal before coupons!)

Target Weekly Ad Find

Laundering? Yes! Almost double/triple the discount. Why not?!

Here's this week's find..

To me, Tide is a good deal when the 50oz liquid detergent is $5 n/or the 100oz is $10. Anymore is too much. That's the lowest I've found in the past year. What beats it are the coupons on top of the sale. Yes, 50oz to be $5 n 100oz to be $10 is a sale, never a norm, no matter where I look. I could be a little biased on my research because I only shop at Target, HEB and Kroger. Time is my limit and the interent and mobile deals are my sources.
Take for instance my last shop at Kroger was a major deal, in some part, if I did more work, I would of saved more. But when you send your husband to the store  and on top of that it's his trip right after an hour drive home from work, it's  the best it's gonna get.
It was a weekly sale called 5 for 5.  Pretty much you buy 5 items from the list of items to choose from and you save $5!  Not bad considering its a mix of food and  household products, etc. I always aim for Dawn dishwasher soap, Charmin toilet papet, Bounty paper towels and Tide laundry detergent. I can stock on them, they don't  expire and I use them regularly. This trip was mainly for Dawn and Tide.
Dawn is usually $2.63 for around 24oz n
Tide was $5.99 (I think that's an already sale price).
I loaded two Dawn coupons, one for .50 off and one for .25 off, n also a $2 off coupon for Tide on my Kroger card.
I sent my hubby five .75 off manufacturers coupon for Tide to print out at work.
He chose 5 Dawns and 5 Tides bottles totalling $43.10 (all math no tax).
5 for 5 saved $10, down to $33.10.
2 Dawn coupons saved .75, down to $32.35.
6 Tide coupons saved $5.75, down totalling $26.60.
That's $16.50 in sales n coupons!

p.s. Since I'm set on all my laundering essentials I thought I'd share the Target deal just because it's a good deal!  At least I remembered to share before the week ended! 😉 Happy Savings!

P.p.s.  You gotta love the online store ads and mobile coupons. They save you alot/alittle depending and it only takes a little time out of a busy schedule.

P.p.p.s. I'm not an agressive couponer or will I 'pay' to buy coupons just to save. It's  ridiculous in my opinion but I'm no die-hard couponer to say otherwise.
